Trombonist Andreas Eitzinger: A Master of His Craft at Mid EUROPE 2024

After having welcomed solo flutist Birgit Ramsl and euphonium soloist Steven Mead to Mid EUROPE in the past two years, this year we are particularly honored by the participation of trombonist Andreas Eitzinger.

Born in 1982 in Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria, Andreas Eitzinger’s passion for the trombone led him to the Anton Bruckner Private University, where he studied under Prof. Josef Kürner. During his studies, he won first prize several times at Prima La Musica and was awarded the Promotion Prize in the solo division at the GRADUS AD PARNASSUM competition in 2004. In January 2006, he received the Anton Bruckner Promotion Prize from the Vienna Symphony.

Since 2006, Andreas Eitzinger has enriched the Tonkünstler Orchestra Lower Austria as solo trombonist and shared his knowledge as a professor at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt from 2012 to 2023. Since 2023, he has been teaching at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.

In addition, Andreas Eitzinger is actively involved in master classes and as a lecturer at renowned institutions such as Conservatory Klagenfurt, the ABPU, MUK, and at festivals like the Palm Klang Festival in Oberalm, Per Sonare Blechfest 2014, the Woodstock Academy, and the Donau Brass Festival Grein. His diverse orchestral work includes prestigious ensembles such as the Vienna State Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Vienna Philharmonic, Mozarteum Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony, RSO Vienna, the Munich Philharmonic, Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Klangforum Wien, and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.

Our special thanks goes out to the Buffet Crampon company for making the appearance of B&S artist Andreas Eitzinger at Mid EUROPE 2024 possible.
